Framing of a disruptive innovation project for the Thermal Comfort service

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Pagamon accompanies the framing of a disruptive innovation project in the development and tuning of the air conditioning system of a car manufacturer facing problems to adapt to changing customer expectations or system responses.

  • The engineering department of this car manufacturer is confronted with recurring problems in the development of air conditioning systems. There are difficulties in adapting to changes in customer expectations or system responses (e.g., RFP change) due to the lack of:
    • Organizational agility.
    • Roadmaps and tools that do not allow for anticipation or reactivity.
  • The manufacturer has already launched a project to identify pain points. It would like to have a follow-up and animation support to establish a breakthrough in the development and fine-tuning of the air-conditioning system and thus meet the external and internal challenges in the next 10 years.
  • He wishes to rely on Agile methods.

PROJECT APPROACH

  • Elaboration of a diagnosis of the existing and blocking points covering the 4 axes of the project:
    • Objectivation of services.
    • In-board technologies.
    • Off-board development tools.
    • Organization in Agile platform.
  • Training of the pilots of the axes to Agile and to the backlog, and sensitization to the working methods inspired by Scrum.
  • Identification of the target situation by 2025 and reflection on the means to achieve it.
  • Coaching the teams in the framing and monitoring of the production of transformation roadmaps (3 sprints initiated and facilitated as Scrum Master).
  • Set up the governance necessary for regular decision making, animation of the bodies (animation of 4 Management Committees).

RESULTS

  • The project allows to:
    • Clarify the diagnosis of the existing situation and factualize the blocking points covering the 4 axes of the project.
    • Have the Management Committee validate the target situation for 2025.
    • Formalize a short and medium term action plan for each axis, validated by the Management Committee.
