Evaluation of activities for a potential acquisition

Project outline

  • The client is a publicly traded biotech company. It aims to acquire activities in vaccines.
  • It requests the support of Pagamon to carry out an initial evaluation of the targeted activities.

Project approach

  • Qualitative and quantitative research on targeted vaccines for 5 antigens of interest: hepatitis A, typhoid fever, rabies, tick-borne encephalitis and yellow fever.
  • Construction of 10-year sales forecast models (volume, value, price), including 30-year trends.
  • Interviewed insiders to collect qualitative and quantitative data to validate the models.
  • Estimation of industrial cost prices, M&S, A&P, PV, RA, Medical affairs, Supply Chain | Distribution | Customer Service costs.
  • Calculation of the NPV and residual value of each product over the next 20 years.

Results

  • Recommendation of acquisition or distribution to the Executive Committee.
  • Evaluation report for each opportunity: preparatory work for the establishment of term sheets.
  • Modeling of the P&L of each product.
