Definition and documentation of a product supply chain

PROJECT OUTLINE

  • The company is re-internalizing the sale and distribution of a vaccine that was outsourced.
  • This requires redefining the product supply chains from internal and external production sites to end customers in 21 countries and markets via third-party logistics and local distributors.
  • The client wants to create a “chain of custody” repository that would document this supply chain in detail.

PROJECT APPROACH

  • Inventory of current flows, identification of unchanged flows, collection of existing documentation.
  • Progressive definition of future flows and documentation as we go along.
  • Continuous validation and control of the design consistency with the actors: supply chain, quality assurance, trade and distribution, pharmaceutical responsibility, legal department, financial department, etc.
  • Definition of a procedure for updating this reference documentation.

RESULTS

  • Documentation of flows on the following dimensions: locations and operations of the physical flow (15 to 25 steps per country | market), realization and supervision of operations for supply chain and quality assurance, locations and INCOTERMs of ownership changes, contracts and SOPs applicable to each operation, liability and insurance coverage, etc.
  • Identification of contracts and SOPs to be created or amended.
  • Synthetic graphic document (Powerpoint) and detailed document (Excel) controlled (in the sense of Quality Assurance).
  • Given the quality and usefulness of the repository, the client then asked Pagamon to extend it to another distributed product.
