PROJECT OUTLINE

• To formalize the requirements for its suncare products, this world leader in ophthalmic optics proposes to conduct a functional analysis specific to these products.
• The aim is to identify the criteria – and as far as possible the values of these criteria – describing these requirements.

PROJECT APPROACH

• The approach is based on the implementation of functional analysis methods.
• Preparatory phase = framing of the project with the core team: expectations, participants, hard points…
• Facilitation of workshops = 4 one-day workshops to carry out the different steps of the functional analysis:
  • Identification of the nature of the need.
  • Selection of the relevant life cycle phases to study.
  • For each phase of the life cycle: characterization of the elements of the environment, identification of the service functions (main and constraints).
  • Definition of the performance criteria for each function.
  • Construction of the functional table: parameters specifying the criteria and values of these parameters.

RESULTS

• Life cycle of a sunglass lens (development, manufacturing, distribution).
• Main functions and associated constrained functions.
• Definition of performance criteria for each function.
• Construction of a reference table: parameters specifying the criteria and, as far as possible, values of these parameters.
